The JILO – Journées internationales de Limnologie et Océanographie are organized under the auspices of the Association Française de Limnologie (AFL). For over 70 years, this conference has brought together the francophone community of aquatic ecology, and has become a key event structuring academic life in this field in France and across the francophone world.
One of the distinctive features of the JILO conference lies in its openness to environmental managers, fostering dialogue between research and applied management of aquatic ecosystems.
Scope and objectives
The conference aims to bring together a wide community of francophone ecologists working on continental and marine aquatic environments. It will address major challenges related to the understanding, conservation, and restoration of aquatic biodiversity and associated terrestrial ecosystems (wetlands, riparian zones) in the context of global change.
JILO welcomes both scientists and stakeholders involved in environmental management. The conference will be structured around thematic sessions covering topics such as ecological monitoring, bioindication and long-term surveys, invasive species, emerging risks in freshwater, brackish and coastal marine ecosystems, links between global change and biodiversity, and ecosystem management and restoration.
