The JILO – International Days of Limnology and Oceanography are organized under the auspices of the Association Française de Limnologie (AFL: https://limnologie.fr/). Bringing together the French-speaking community of aquatic ecology for more than 70 years, the JILO are a key event for academic life in the field of aquatic ecology, both in France and across the French-speaking world. Through its openness to environmental managers, the JILO occupy a distinctive position within the landscape of scientific conferences.
The objective of the conference is to bring together a broad community of French-speaking ecologists working on continental and marine aquatic environments, in order to address issues related to knowledge, conservation, and restoration of aquatic biodiversity and associated terrestrial biodiversity (riparian wetlands, riparian forests) in a context of global change. While the JILO primarily attract a scientific audience, they are also open to stakeholders involved in the management of natural environments. The conference is structured around thematic sessions addressing, in particular, ecological monitoring, bioindication and long-term surveys, issues related to exotic or invasive species, emerging risks affecting freshwater, brackish and coastal marine environments, links between global change and biodiversity, as well as ecosystem management and restoration.
